Information Sessions Policy

Recruitment Information Sessions Terms & Conditions for Employers

The Career Services and Co-operative Education office provides employers with the opportunity to host an information session on campus. Employers are expected to abide by the following recruitment information session terms and conditions:

  1. recruitment information session bookings are a free service provided to employers recruiting Carleton students
  2. recruitment information sessions are provided to employers recruiting students for degree related career opportunities, information session bookings are not available for unpaid or non-degree related employment opportunities, or Canadian post-secondary academic institutions
  3. employers are encouraged to book their information session at least 2 weeks (10 business days) in advance of their preferred date, the Career Services and Co-operative Education office cannot guarantee preferred dates
  4. information session bookings will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis
  5. the Career Services and Co-operative Education office reserves the right to not book two information sessions at the same time for employers recruiting and targeting the same degree programs
  6. the Career Services and Co-operative Education office will make every effort to provide a room for your information session that meets your requirements, however due to limited and restricted space on campus; we cannot guarantee specific room requests
  7. employers must provide promotional text within 48 hours of the Career Services and Co-operative Education office confirming your booking to be used for registration set up and marketing of the session.  No promotion or event registration will be conducted until the text is received
  8.  employers may also provide the Career Services and Co-operative Education office with no more than 15 promotional posters, no larger than 11x17, within 7 business days of your session to allow effective advertising time of your session. The Career Services and Co-operative Education office will be responsible for distributing your poster to targeted departments and student groups. Career Services and Co-operative Education cannot guarantee your poster will be distributed in time should we receive less than 7 business days
  9. in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, the Career Services and Co-operative Education office will no longer be printing promotional posters from electronic files submitted by employers for distribution on campus
  10. employers wishing to provide refreshments during their session must use the catering services available on campus and adhere to Aramark’s catering policies. Employers are responsible for placing their catering order 72 hours prior to their session directly through the Aramark’s on-line system and confirm order delivery time and location the morning of the session.  Please copy Lorraine Anderson (Lorraine.Anderson@carleton.ca) on your original catering order
  11. the Career Services and Co-operative Education office will provide employers with student registration numbers 48 hours prior to your information session, however we cannot guarantee student attendance based on registration numbers, these should only be considered as an estimate
  12. employers are responsible for their own parking arrangements when visiting the campus to conduct a recruitment information session, the Career Services and Co-operative Education office is not responsible for parking infractions that occur while the employer is on campus
